Red Emperor — Budget Royalty version
September 3, 2008 2:23 am knitting, red emperorIt’s cast on, and the first row is done. I’ve calculated that it requires 343 rows, which seems awfully small, but I suppose since it’s 95 stitches wide, that makes sense with the proportions.

ETA: To get this done by the end of the month, I need to knit 16 rows/day! Not likely!

This is such a great idea. If it’s too small when you’ve done your ten repeats or whatever of the middle section, just add a few more until you’re happy with the length.
(bet you were going to do that anyway)
The scarf/wrap I made isn’t a very long one, it goes once around the neck or once around the shoulders, no long tails anywhere.
I think the thicker yarn will look great too, because the texture in the end borders will really stand out, and I think it’s the nicest feature of the thing.
Good luck!

Thanks, Ailsa! I’m only on my third repeat of the chart, but I’m having a good time with it. The detail is really standing out beautifully. I’ll post more pictures soon.
