bold: garter stitch selvage

italics: the ‘odd’ stitch, far-right stitch in the chart but not in the repeats

Kb: knit in the back of the stitch

YO: yarn over the needle to make a stitch

K2tog: knit two stitches together

P2tog: purl two stitches together

SSK: slip first stitch to right needle, knit next stitch, pass first stitch over and off right needle

S2K: slip two stitches as though to knit, knit next stitch, pass two stitches over and off right needle

SSK2: as SSK but knitting two stitches together instead of one

CL2/CL3/CL5: yarn back, slip stitches to r. needle, yarn front, slip stitches to l. needle, yarn back, slip stitches to r. needle; pull TIGHT, continue

It’s cast on, and the first row is done.  I’ve calculated that it requires 343 rows, which seems awfully small, but I suppose since it’s 95 stitches wide, that makes sense with the proportions.
